Internally
Yes, we do own the data. When someone uses the Catalist file, Catalist will get a copy to improve scoring and data quality. We currently (September 2023) don’t use the data for anything other than holding onto it in case the customer returns. Sometime in the future we will use it for our own targeting and improved data quality.
Externally
Yes, we do own the data. But so do our clients. They own all the data they collect and we will never hold their data hostage. Clients are able to all of their Voter IDs from the app and if an export isn’t possible through the current dashboard, we will help the client get what they need/want.
We retain permission to use a client account’s data to improve our voter file’s quality or integrate it into anonymous modeling and scoring. We’ll never share your data with third parties without the client’s express permission. Examples of that permission: If you choose to use the Catalist voter file - we’ll send your data to Catalist for similar voterfile improvement and anonymous score modeling.
Not yet (as of September 2023), but hopefully in the future.
Catalist files are updated monthly.
