On MacOS, you can find the version number by clicking the “About Universe” option from the dropdown menu on the navigation bar in the top left corner of the screen

On Windows, you can click the “About Universe” option from the dropdown menu on the navigation bar on the Universe app itself (Should be right next to the “Close button”).
